Written before THE HUNGER revived interest in modern vampire films, HABIT is a psychological meditation on alienation and addiction. Fessenden remade it 14 years later into a fully fleshed out feature. About the two films, he writes: "All my films have been approached as portraits; Habit is my self portrait. Now I've made it twice, I imagine making it again in 2010. It's my own TWENTY-EIGHT UP; a way of marking my changing attitude. Between the first two, there's been little change, sadly."
