St. Mark's Church where they still have poetry marathons. St. Mark's is 8th street, which is technically the East Village.
We filmed a lot on Ridge Street below Houston in what's called The Lower East Side. We used the same apartment that appears in director Scott Saunder's movie THE HEADHUNTER'S SISTER.
Ludlow Street below Houston is a happening few blocks. There's El Sombrero, aka The Hat, good cheap mexican fare with that lime-green exterior. Ludlow Street Cafe where we shot the bar has since closed. Your movie gets dated real fast when you shoot in New York. Those two puti still grace the building facade, though.
